Followers of Zamorak, hear me now! In order to stay true to the chaotic teachings of Zamorak and to follow his ideology, it is imperative that Zamorakians assist Saradomin in this fight. (I sound crazy, but hear me out!) Zamorak teaches his followers to break from their monotonous lives and spring into action. The Battle of Lumbridge is very similar to the village described in the Book of the Runescape Gold – everyone in Lumbridge has been following the same routine for years. Now they’ve broken from that routine and sprang into action to set up triage tents for the injured, repaired a home for a family (or two, depending on what you chose with Duke Horacio), and have set to work bettering the town.
Zamorak’s purpose here has a double meaning – not only is he after power, but he has come to take the anger of the townspeople. He is there to satisfy the citizens’ feelings of angst and hatred from leading a relatively controlled existence. He is a beacon of creative destruction – allowing himself to become a symbol of utter contempt so that the citizens may unknowningly experience ‘chaos’.
Haven’t you seen the HUD bar? Look at how everyone has so quickly sprung into action against him! Go forth, crazed followers of Zamorak! Support Saradomin in this fight!
If I may paraphrase Batman to get my point across –
Batman: Sometimes, truth isn’t good enough, sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.
Lieutenant James Gordon: We’ll have to hunt you.
Batman: You’ll hunt me. You’ll condemn me, you’ll set the dogs on me. But that’s what has to happen.
Lieutenant James Gordon: Because he’s the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now…and so we’ll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he’s not a hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector…a dark knight.
I realize that might-…take away from the seriousness of my argument, but what better example than Batman!
